Kendall Rackley, math teacher, opens Canvas on Friday, May 8. On Thursday, May 7, at 3:45 p.m., Canvas, Rockwood’s learning management system, was hacked by ShinyHunters. Rockwood officials notified students and staff of this incident at 4:35 p.m., and Canvas was unavailable from 3:45 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. the following day.

On Thursday, May 7, the elevator by the nurse’s office was put out of order, causing students with crutches to have to use the stairs. Maddie Robinson, freshman, uses crutches after she tore her anterior cruciate ligament. "It can take a long time sometimes and get tiring for my legs,” Robinson said.

Dr. Jesse Kavadlo is many things: A professor of English at Maryville University by day, and a rockstar by night. Recently, Dr. Kavadlo wrote a book called "Rock of Pages" where he analyzes the thematic connections between 80s heavy metal and classic literature. Kavadlo visited MHS to read excerpts from his book and to play alongside one of Marquette's student rock bands, Fretbuzz.
